Chain Mails Chain mail is a type of armor or Antique Armoury that consists of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. Mail can sometimes be punctured by a spear or shorn by the blow from a heavy Axe or sword and its flexibility means that its wearer is
still somewhat vulnerable to blunt weapons. Chain mail are mostly used by the king and special persons. Soldiers often doesn't use chain mails as they were costly than cloth or leather dresses.
Nevertheless, it was an effective and popular defense for its ability to stop cutting weapons from piercing the skin. Chain mail is now used in protective clothing for butchers ( against meat-packing equipment ), scuba divers ( against shark teeth ) and animal control officers ( against animal teeth ).
The medieval era is known for its elaborate mail armors and artistic shields. These armors are now made with a purpose of recapturing that glorious era. They are used for re-enactment of the era, decoratives for public places and historical monuments and museums and collectors. They are till date hand made by the craftsmen.
